I am very pleased to be a middle school teacher here, as 2013 / 2014 will be my eighth year of teaching at St. Mary’s School. I started my teaching career a very long time ago, at McCoy High School in 1981! After three years of teaching, I changed careers and went into a different business for 17 years! I decided that I missed my ‘calling’, and went back into teaching 13 years ago. I taught at McCoy High School for five years, and then relocated to St. Mary’s seven years ago. My time in the classroom has been spent as a Social Studies teacher, having taught all levels from grades 6 to 12. My assignment at St. Mary’s sees me teaching Social Studies at the grade 9 level, as well as grade eight Language arts. I have also been very involved in coaching, and over the years have coached high school basketball and football. I am currently enjoying my involvement with the senior and JV boys basketball teams at McCoy High School. I am very excited about the opportunity to be at St. Mary’s, as I thoroughly enjoy the many challenges and excitement that arise every day at a junior high school, and also, to be a part of a very committed staff. I hope that everyone had a restful and enjoyable summer, and look forward to the upcoming year. I hope that your school year will be as interesting and exciting as the one just completed!
