About Me

I was born in Trail, British Columbia. As a boy I have lived at several locations including: Pitt Meadows, BC; Ellensburg, WA; Ucluelet, BC; 108 Mile Ranch, BC; and Brooks, AB. I have also lived in Lethbridge, and for the past 18 years, in Medicine Hat. I am a graduate of Brooks Composite High School.

I took university transfer courses in education at Medicine Hat College (student taught at Ross Glen School). I transferred to the University of Lethbridge (student taught at Sunnyside School, in the County of Lethbridge, and Central School in Brooks). I graduated with a Degree in Education in 1993. I majored in Physical Education and minored in Social Studies. I substitute taught for a number of years in Lethbridge, County of Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Medicine Hat Catholic, and Prairie Rose.

My first teaching job was at St. Michael's School in the Learning Assistant Program for six months. I received an appointment to teach at Chamberlain School in Grassy Lake in 1999. I taught junior high school for five years and I taught everything except science. I was also the school's vice principal for four years.

I began at St. Mary's in 2004-05 teaching Physical Education and Social Studies. The following year and for four years after, I was strictly a PE teacher. Beside PE, I have also taught social studies 7 & 8. This year I have a grade 7 homeroom class and teach PE 7, 8, & 9; Social Studies 7 & 8, and religion 7.  I am also the yearbook guy at the school.

On top of my teaching duties, I also do a lot of coaching at St. Mary's. Over the last 11 years, I have coached volleyball, basketball, badminton, and track & field. I also put on the Colts Cup Basketball Tournaments, volleyball tournaments, and the Colts/Dawgs Mega Tournament (Badminton).

Barb (my wife) and I just celebrated our 22nd anniversary in August. Barb teaches preschool at Mother Teresa School. My son, Eric, is 21, and is in his fourth year at Medicine Hat College. My daughter, Megan, is 19 and in her second year at Medicine Hat College. I enjoy biking, walking, reading, gardening, Munzee, Scrabble, and lawn bowling.
