Pink Shirt Day is Wednesday, February 26, 2025. 

Staff and students are encouraged to wear a pink shirt on Pink Shirt Day as a symbol of inclusion, love, and a commitment to choose kindness in our daily lives.

We will be performing at the Rotary Music Festival on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Students will be performing 3 pieces for an adjudicator and receive a clinic from the adjudicator. This performance takes place during school hours. Parents are welcome to come and watch their child perform during this time. You are welcome to stay for the full hour or only stay for the performance. Students do not need to wear anything special for the day, but I do ask that they do not come dressed like they are going to bed right after. This is a great opportunity for the students to perform for an establish music educator and conductor, as well as receive feedback on their performance and help continuing their growth as musicians.

The schedule is as follows:

9:00am-10:00am - Grade 7
10:00am-11:00am - Grade 8
11:00am-12:00pm - Grade 9

Concluding with a special Mass on May 17th where students will be able to receive Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation.

I am excited to announce that we are going to be doing a Mass Band concert with Crescent Heights High School and the Andante Band of the Medicine Hat Concert Band Society.

The concert will take place at Crescent Heights High School on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 7PM. All band students in Grade 7, 8, and 9 will be performing the music they performed at the Rotary Music Festival, as well as a mass band piece with all instrumentalists that are performing that night. This opportunity is important for all band students and is part of their grade. Please let me know if your child can not attend and why. Seeing other students of their age range perform is crucial for the development of all music students and seeing that they can keep playing past high school.

Students will be responsible for getting to Crescent Heights High School and bringing their instrument(s). I will be transporting the require percussion instruments to the performance that day.

The purpose of this event is to promote career options in trades, technology and health to junior high students in grade 9. Students will have the opportunity to partake in 4 different hands-on sessions throughout the day to learn about all of the different careers. Students will be split into groups of 10 and will have an employee from MHC lead them around to the different sessions.
