School Resource Officer

I am excited to begin my journey as a School Resource Officer. I was born and raised in Medicine Hat, and I am looking forward to making a positive impact within the education community. I am deeply committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff, and looking forward to serving as a mentor, resource, and advocate for educational success.

Beginning my journey to become a Police Officer, I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Calgary. I then applied to Medicine Hat Police Service and began Police training in 2020. After training was completed, I was hired in June 2020. Since then, I have operated in the Patrol Section and joined the additional units of Police and Crisis Team (PACT)
and Crisis Negotiator Team. I have honed my skills in crisis management, conflict resolution, and public safety.

Throughout my career, I have developed a passion for working with youth and understand the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment for students to thrive academically and socially. I look forward to working collaboratively with school administration, teachers, and students to create a positive school climate.

In my off time, I enjoy being with my family, long walks with my dog, backpacking in different countries, and hanging out with my Little from Big Brothers Big Sisters. I am excited to get to know and meet all of the new friendly faces over the next few weeks!
